Our Slide Scanning and Photo Digitization Service

We will take your old (and new) 35mm slides, photos and negatives and digitize them to high-resolution JPEGs or TIFFs. Our 35mm negative and 35mm slide scanning is done at 4000dpi, and photos at 600dpi. From these high-resolution scans, we will provide you with a DVD slideshow, large high-resolution JPEGs suitable for printing, and low resolution JPEGs for quick browsing of your slides and for general use, like in PowerPoint presentations. Viewing your digitized 35mm slides will be a whole new experience.

We are aware that many of our customers feel overwhelmed by the process of preserving their slides digitally. That is why we make our process as simple as possible. We allow you to send them to us in just as they are. Of course organization beforehand is appreciated, but we'll make sure that your slide project turns out very well.

We strongly suggest having your original 35mm slides and others in archival grade slide trays. Your original slides will be more organized and will take up much less space when compared to slides in carousels, trays, cubes, or boxes. Also, since you will have your slides in digital format, there will be no reason to project them anymore, so why keep them in other bulky containers?

These trays contain 30 compartments per level that will hold up to 25 slides each. There is a special sheet that allows you to number/catalog each group of slides. The 1500 slide tray has two levels, while the 750 slide tray has only one. See the pictures below.

The trays are $25 for 1500 slide trays and $18 for 750 slide trays. You can order these trays prior to your project, this will save you money for shipping. Or you can request for us to put your slides in trays for you once your project is complete.

Shipping cost prior to project is $6.00 for the first tray and $4.00 for each additional tray.

Pricing

We accept MasterCard, VISA and Discover. We also accept money orders, personal, corporate and cashier checks. We collect payment upon shipment of your DVD(s). If you are a corporate, university or government customer, we can send you an invoice at shipment but we will retain possession of your original materials until we receive payment.

Some of the prices or price breakdowns have changed as of Monday June 13th, 2005. Previous customers and customers currently in-house will be grandfathered into the new pricing. This pricing will be in effect for everyone else as of June 13, 2005.

The prices above may seem low for everything you get, but don't worry we offer a world-class product.

The minimum price for any project is $100.00. The minimum includes only the slide scanning cost. Additional copies, review upgrade, music, or shipping costs do not count towards the minimum. Sorry, no exceptions.

TIFFs are $0.38 extra per slide based on the above prices.

Other Slide Transfer And Photo Project Upgrades:

Music: $25.00 per DVD

     We have an extensive collection of royalty free music. This collection includes classical music, piano music, and classical piano. The cost for adding a soundtrack of our royalty free music to your project is $25 per DVD. Unfortunately we can not accommodate requests for certain themed music. For example Italian music, outdoors music, etc.
     We can also accommodate customers wanting "name brand" music. This requires paying licensing fees to the correct people to make it legal. We can take care of all of this for you. You can provide us with music CDs that you have compiled, MP3 files or music CDs that you have purchased. The price for custom music compositions varies from project to project.
     All audio on our DVDs are encoded in AC3 to ensure the best quality of audio and to allow up to 90 minutes of film or about 1400 slides.

Review Upgrade: $100.00 per DVD

This option is for people who have a lot of film, slides or photos, but don't have the time, equipment, or interest in reviewing all of them prior to beginning a DVD transfer project. We will create a review DVD containing your film/slides/photos/negatives and menu titles from your film boxes and send it to you. You can then reorder your images, decide on groupings for images and correct menu titles. We will then produce a new customized DVD of your images.

There are 3 main advantages to this option:

You get 2 DVDs--1 review DVD and 1 final DVD.
It saves you the time and trouble of reviewing your items.
Your DVD will be exactly how you want it.

Rush Service:

5-day or faster rush turnaround for slide scanning is available on most jobs. The rush fee itself is 30% of the total project cost or $200.00, whichever is greater. The rush fee is in addition to the project cost. This applies to ALL rush jobs with no exceptions.
