We have to charge double for this service because transferring sound film
is a two-pass
process. Since we only perform frame-by-frame
transfers of
the film images, we cannot capture the sound at the same
time. Because of this, synchronization issues
arise. We place a great deal of importance on
the quality of our transfers, so using any old
projector to capture sound would be inconsistent with
our process. To ensure the highest quality sound
transfer, we have developed sound capture machines
that run at an exact speed using modern motor
technology. After the audio is captured, a CJS
editor aligns the film and sound tracks, giving you
lip-synchronized film.
This is the only sound service we offer because it is
the only process that will give you the excellent film
clarity of a frame-by-frame transfer with lip-synched
sound. Most competitors cannot offer a
frame-by-frame lip-synched product. They would
more likely use inferior units such as GOKOs or Elmos
which are not frame-by-frame and yield poor results
when compared to our transfers. The quality of
our sound heads is also better than those in telecine
units we've encountered. We have customers
that say "finally I've found someone
who can actually do sound film properly."
You can
choose to have your sound film transferred as silent
film if you wish. This will avoid the sound fee. |

Other Film Project Upgrades: |
|
|
|
We have an extensive collection of royalty free music.
This collection includes
classical music, piano music, and
classical piano. The
cost for adding a soundtrack of our royalty free music to your
project is $25 per DVD. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate
requests for themed music like Italian music, outdoors music, etc.
We can accommodate customers wanting
"name brand" music. This requires paying licensing
fees to the correct people to make it legal. We can take care
of all of this for you.
You can
provide us with music CDs that you have compiled, MP3 files or music CDs
that you have purchased. The price
for custom music compositions varies from project to project.
All audio on our DVDs are encoded in AC3 to
ensure the best quality of audio and to allow up to 90 minutes of
film or about 2000 slides.

This option is for people who have a lot of film, slides or photos,
but don't have the time, equipment, or interest in reviewing all of
them prior to beginning a DVD transfer project. We will create
a review DVD containing your film/slides/photos/negatives and menu
titles from your film boxes and send it to you. You will then
review the DVD and e-mail us with the menu titles corrections and
the changes in the order that the films play on the DVD. We
will then reorganize your films, create new menus, and send the
customized DVD to you.
There are 4 main advantages to this option:
- You get 2 DVDs--1 review
DVD and 1 final DVD.
- It saves you the time and
trouble of reviewing your films.
- It eliminates the chance that your films will be
damaged when you view them with a projector.
- Your DVD will be exactly
how you want it.
This option is available within 60
days of the customer's receipt. After that a surcharge may
apply.
Minimal changes to a DVD can be made for less than
$100. Please contact a CJS representative by phone,
mail or email.
For this we would prefer email or regular mail.
Discretion is up to CJS Technologies LLC as to what the
review upgrade charge will be. You will be contacted
with this price prior to any work being done.
For example:
If one or two menu/chapter titles need changing due
to film being incorrectly labeled or illegibility of
titles, we wont enforce the $100 review upgrade fee.
A typical charge would be $25.00 + 12.50 for the DVD.
This would get you the changes and a new copy of the
corrected DVD. Copies of this new DVD can then be
purchased at the normal DVD copy cost.

Rush
Service Charges |
|
We offer a 5-day or faster rush service for most
projects.
The rush fee itself is 30% of the total project cost or $200.00,
whichever is greater. The rush fee is in addition to the
project cost. This applies to ALL rush
jobs with no exceptions.
|
|
$100
Project Minimum Details |
|
We will enforce a $100 minimum on all film projects.
We do this because completing a film project isn't as simple
as running film through one end of a machine and having a
DVD pop out the other end. There is a substantial
amount of overhead with any project. It's just part of
having your film done properly.
The minimum charge of $100 includes only the price of
digitizing the film. It does not include shipping,
music, a review upgrade, or any additional copies of any
kind.
If a customer decides they do not want to pay the minimum
charge after we have received their project, we will
gladly ship the project back for the actual cost of shipping
the package back.
